Track 04
Mechanics for soft and metamaterials
Soft and metamaterials have attracted increasing interest from scientists and engineers alike, owing to exceptional mechanical properties. This symposium aims to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the mechanics, both dynamic and static, of soft matter and metamaterials. We invite contributions in the design, characterization, and application of soft matter and metamaterials.
This track will cover a broad range of topics relating to mechanics for soft and metamaterials including but not limited to:
- Constitutive modeling of soft matter;
- Instability of soft materials and structures;
- Soft robotic materials;
- Phononic and mechanical metamaterials;
- Topological mechanics;
- Mechanical logical devices and computing;
- Nonlinear waves in metamaterials;
- Phase transition in soft and metamaterials;
- Design and applications of soft and metamaterials.
